Description

Hey everyone, I've been out quite a bit recently in the local area looking for interesting locations and due to their abundance around these parts have ended up shooting more than my fair share of wheat fields.. I'm never very good with timings of harvest and stuff so I'm pretty glad I did as almost everywhere now is bare and bundled up into these haystacks as you see here. But I guess it's a case of lose one photographic subject, gain another! It's my guess that most places in England will have been harvested by the end of this week..and speaking of the end of the week, I've pencilled in a 3 day camping trip to the Lake District meeting up with a Scottish photographer I know next weekend.. it'll be nice to get out and shoot what I WANT to rather than what I think might sell as stock.. =) The photo here was taken in Oxfordshire, England by the way. Hope you all had a good weekend! Adam

A superb capture and extraordinary lighting in here,Adam, but....I would have chosen a standard 'landscape' format rather than the 'portrait' format to enhance the general atmosphere of this gem of a capture.(IMHO!)

Fabulous! This is typical England during the month of August and you have captured it well. Looking at the clouds, it does look as though it might rain, good job the farmers finished harvesting. I understand what 'Karma Song' has written but I think what you have captured works just as well. Enjoy the Lake District - endless photo opportunities there!

I agree with Karma a standard Landscape would have worked better.Stunning capture though my friend. The bale of hay in the foreground is perfectly placed to give dept to your capture.

I dont agree with karmasong and kgb224 ---- I think a standard landscape would have made it just that " a plain old landscape" This presentation showcases the texture of the bale and the feild making them the forefront of the foto with an outstanding sky to boot. I think great composition POV and dof. lighting. Great Photograph
