Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

He may have been sitting right in front of you but his soul is far far away. Great catch of his peace. :>) Dana

I have known a fair amount of musicians and it seems their instrument really is a part of them. Going somewhere without it close at hand will alter their personalities greatly (usually for the worst) and they often can't even speak unless they are cradling it when they do. Wonderful shot, Marilyn.

there are always moments in musical performance where a performer is so lost in the music he/she is in some deep zone of peace and fulfillment. And yes, this is one of those moments. The next moment he could be emerging out with a shout of his bass or ever voice. You captured his playing hand surrounded by flowers, and it makes it seem as if the music is a bloom: It's beautifully done. And his turned head & closed eyes are typical of the musical moment all musicians feel as they go deeper into the music & therefore themselves. A fine musical shot, Marilyn, captured as if you'd played before yourself...
