Description

Captured 8/8/09, around 2 to 4PM, at a car show within walking distance of my archaic abode. A ZOOM is an absolute MUST on this display. This auto show is an annual event, and usually features about 75-100 classics, mostly Chevys, along with many motorcycles and novelty vehicles. The Biscayne was a series of automobile produced by Chevrolet for model years 1958 through 1972. Named after a show car displayed at the 1955 General Motors Motorama, the Biscayne was the least expensive model in the Chevrolet full-size car range (except in 1958), which also included the Delray, Bel Air, Impala and Caprice. At its inception for the 1958 model year, the Biscayne was available as a 2 or 4 door pillared sedan. A Biscayne station wagon was available from 1962-68. The station wagon models used a different series of names than the other models from 1958-61, and again from 1969-72. The 2-door sedan was dropped after 1969, and consequently from 1970-72 the only Biscayne model available was a 4-door sedan. Source: Wikipedia encyclopedia Ta-ta, and tallyho.

Now playing in my mind...'You're so fine' by the Clovers! A fitting tribute to a fabulous 50's Chevy and some sharp shooting and collage work. Love it.

such a wonderful looking car, and another of your wonderful & fun montages. You take us once again through a journey of angles, povs, etc, and leave us at a big closeup of the sheer chrome-icity (sp!) and wonderful line-art of the back. There's always something so direct & bright about your car shots, so that even as they sit against plain old fences they still wholly take command of the backgrounds. Big bold & beautiful—which is what the Chevy makers would want us to say!—and even in the shade, you captured the sheen of the silver parts as if they were lit by themselves...
