Description

I know its not a good shot :( I'm not sure what this is but he is fast. I first saw him more then a week ago but he was gone before I could get my camera in place. Im talking super fast. This time I was ready and managed to get this one picture, I took around 5 before he was gone again but the others are just a blur. Does anyone know what this is?

Good job getting the pic of that sucker. I know what you mean, they move quick. Looks like a velvet ant aka: cow killer ant. They are actually wingless wasps instead of ants. When I was a kid I used to see them pretty often, we called them cow ants around my home in NC.
