Description

Well for those who have followed my walk over Haystacks here it is from the front on the approach.Haystacks is that foreboding mountain on the right. It has to be said that its bark is worse than its bite as those of you have seen from my previous images. The mountain to the left is Fleetwith Pike and behind that are the slopes of Dale Head. If you look to the lower slopes of Fleetwith Pike you see an old track running to the left of the stream. This is the route back down after coming down the left side of Haystacks. At the top of that old track is a disused slate mine and quarry. The stream coming down the valley is Warnscale Beck that has a number of very nice water falls and the beck flows across the flat plains of Warnscale Bottom and into the lake known as Buttermere.
