Description
With all the work that has been done rehabbing The San Diego Naval Training Center over the last several years, I still found some place that needed work. This window was in a building still waiting to be remodeled.

WOW! WOW! I am in love with these textures! The colors, the light, and everything else is superbly caught! Wonderful work! I particularly like the geometry of it. The whole thing is recognizable as what it is, and yet it also looks like an abstract. Wonderful work!

I'm a great fan of decay, and this is a classic 'framed' shot of it. (Framed because of your composition, with actual wooden beams around the edges of the shot.) The detail is sharp, the striation, likewise; and you caught the colors probably as vividly as they'll allow without getting too sharp. Structurally, it needs repair. Aesthetically, it's great as it is. Don't tell the owners about that, but visually I love this kind of view. (Nikolay/nikolais does decay exquisitely well, as you may well know.) A perfect capture/crop. Decay is nothing but life at a stage we don't want anymore; but it's life, and this piece is alive. Wonderful piece of work, Dennis.
