Description

We had a nice electrical storm here last night. Actually, looking at the weather radar the storm was one county over, but the clouds were high enough to see here in Memphis. So while one county over they were having some severe weather, we were treated to one of nature's free fireworks shows. So Julia and I put a couple of chairs on the bed of my pick-up truck, and while sipping our current favorite inexpensive Pinot Noir (either Hobnob or Red Bicycle) we snapped away at the electrified sky. These shots are all 4 second exposures at 200 iso. Cheers! marshall

The capture of the lightning is fantastic but I look the 2nd shot the best, the brooding clouds with glow and flash of lightning is awesome!

I have always loved lighting/electrical storms. At least this way, I can see it without having to be in it. Simply incredible shots!

Magnificent collage! Truly fascinating to look at, as this must have been something else to behold, up close and personal.... though perhaps a little scary at the same time. An incredible shade of vibrant red, such a glowing, "ember" effect..... Great presentation! The mood and atmosphere is almost demonic, with the contrast of the red white and black.... such a terrific composition!!

Thanks for posting them large and thanks for posting the series. Hard to pick a favorite one - the collection of shots really gives you a sense of the power of the storm. I love it just the way you've presented it. Very very well done!
