Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I am still plagued by the morning doves. Oh well, I'll keep trying....

Really nice capture! I have to get a feeder. :)

Another excellent photo from your nearby feeder...

I am amazed at how clean the support rail for the feeder is. You must be wiping it quite a bit! Well done Bill! Clive

I see she jumped out your avatar and got a bite to eat :)...Great shot Bill, hope those quarries you mentioned show up soon, then you can share another fine capture with us all...Understand that you need more time on the computer front my friend, just take it slow and ease back in mate!

Hmmmmmmm ... I'm thinking perhaps your avatar has a date for the afternoon? She's quite attractive. :) That safflower seed seems like a miracle! How wonderful, to get only the creatures you want, simply by putting out one seed over another.

Wonderful capture, excellent well done..

She's lovely, as is your capture! So glad to see you back and hear you're well, aside from needing to move slowly.

Great expressiveness in the pose. Wonderful shot. I have several feeders out for different types of birds. Some are for ground feeders, others for mid range and others for the higher feeding birds. The squirrels have their own platform with dried corn on the cob to nibble on so there is no real competition. In a few weeks I'll look at adding the winter blocks of food so the woodpeckers and other bug eaters will see where they need to come to get dinner during the colder months.

Great image. Had to compare her to your avatar as did others. She is different in head marking, probably the easiest to see. Keep them coming, Bill

elfin14doaks
I can't keep nuts(the squirrel who lives in our tree) out of the bird feed. Nice shot of her.

A good self portrait Bill! 8~)

Wonderful capture, love the colors of the bird.
GBCalls
A lovely photo of her.

Magnificent lighting effects jump start the wonderful textures so prominent on this demure avian, Bill! With all the species you mentioned, I'm not too sure what variety Mrs Red-Belly represents. Or is a red-belly an actual type bird?
danapommet
You will have all your old pals back at the feeders in no time. You need to go easy and get your strength back so you can post them as they return. Mrs. Red-belly looks younger than your avatar. Dana

Great capture, Bill! Looks just like you. Our jays return within hours when we get back and put out peanuts. You won't have to wait long. BTW, we had 50 grackles after the safflower the other day. They don't seem to have read the writing on the bag.

A lovely photo and I'm sure she will be back. Some of my waxeyes have left now with all the sun we have been having so we wont see them till next winter. I've still got lots of finches though.
myrrhluz
Lovely bird and capture! You have such a skill at capturing our feathered friends. Good luck with the grackles and squirrels.
