Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

OMG -- I can't believe he's got that Plymouth running already! When does he find time to work on it? That's way cool. Great shot of the cabins. Thanks for this one!

Stellar POV and textures in this rustic capture, M! I didn't know your truck was red. Certainly won't go unnoticed in the surrounding woods. BTW, my first car was a 1935 two door Plymouth coupe, which I paid all of $300 for.

This is fantastic. I love dream homes, especially if they have chicken coops in back, but that's just me...there's something about roosters. Anyway, I love this shot, the colors are so vibrant and inviting and everything is just perfectly placed. Great stuff! I can see myself chilling out there with a bottle of vodka, good friends (the ones who speak English, Russian, and Czech) and all sorts of multi-lingual conversations going on! Great stuff!

lots of luminous hues, and the blues are particularly beautiful, and the feeling is that the whole area is lit from within. You coax these things out of even the simplest facades of a cabin or two & some cars/trucks. And it's a place that has become beloved to you on this trip. Marilyn, I think I've done close to 30 shots tonight; and, of the 6 left, I did 2 the night before. I want very much to finish but I'm truly filled with your light & love of all you see, and I think I need to stop making words for a bit. One of the things that comes across in your gallery is that you love series, because these powerful experiences go on and on for you & can't be captured in one shot. And this series from your trip, like from your Hawaii trip, radiates with the love & 'newness' you find in it. Every shot is like a first-time revelation. It's a great series, and this sho, of the simple cabin-fronts is no exception. I hope it continues for you. Much light has dawned and I hope it continues to...Hope this plethora of "mark" comments wasn't too tedious & repetitious! I just love to do a big swath of your work, a long journey of your work; it immerses me in the power in you and what you see outside of you...The pov, btw, is somewhat symbolic of this trip: We're looking up at the cabins as they loom over us & as they invite us in...that's like what the whole trip seemed like: An invitation to a wonderful light...beautiful work.
