Description
In one of the art classes I took in college I was introduced to the concept of ‘negative space’. This is the idea that what is not is often as important as what is. The classic example is the image of two silhouetted faces in profile facing each other. When you view the negative space between the faces a goblet appears.
In the ten weeks I have been uploading images I have seen many beautiful macros and parts of things. An eye, a half a face, part of a building, an Idon’tknowwhattheheckitis.
All of your images have given me inspiration and ideas.
The image here is not particularly impressive but I show for two reasons; first to find out what it is and secondly to begin an experiment in negative space and close up imaging. I will upload the experiment tomorrow. I look forward to your comments.

Very pretty flowers and capture! I like the veins. Looking forward to tomorrow! (I'm not much help on an ID for flowers, I'm afraid.)

I can't help on the ID either, I've never seen these before, but it's a lovely shot!

They are identical to the wild radish I have posted previously. A wild flower that is invasive but very delicate in appearance. And yet, it survives under the harshest conditions. Gorgeous.

AHA! 'the spaces in between'. Such a vital core lesson for image making of all sorts. I look forward to the experiments.
