Description
When you capture a close up image the background will almost always be blurred or out of focus. My close ups are no different. Before I upload a picture, I enlarge it to 100% and take out all the dust spots and scratches. While at this size I noticed interesting changes in the background. I thought it was time to take macros to the molecular level. If you are wondering where this image came from, take a look at my previous upload. This image comes from the lower right hand corner of Flower 1. No post work. Let me know what you think.
I’d like to thank everyone who has visited this gallery, especially those who have commented. Your words and images have inspired me and helped me to grow. I hope you are all happy now, see what you made me do. {:-)

I can see clearly now the rain is gone.... great looking macro - it would make for one nasty 5000 piece jigsaw puzzle

I'm sorry, Dr. Rorschach! I didn't realize there was going to be a test today. Oh sure! .. you think it's funny, but I once stayed up all night studying for an ink blot test. Are you sure this isn't a Bee-Cam? That must bee close to what they see!? Honestly, Mark ... I keep looking and looking and all I see is the Grassy Knoll. What was it he kept saying? .. "I'm just a pansy." Oh, no .. that was patsy. See, you've got me imagining flowers everywhere! I'm playing, which is what you've inspired, but I really like this exploration. There's an ol' chestnut about what makes art that reaches into an audience, which has stuck with me: "Take them someplace they've never been; show them something they've never seen; make them care. That's art." You just did that. "I can see clearly now the rain is gone...." 'Careful, Mike! Some of us gray hairs may begun to suspect that you also date to the pre-FM era. ;-) Dream on! Terry

I've cleaned some of my earlier stuff and have been similarly struck. It is interesting when on high magnification, how a part of the picture previously unnoticed will jump right out. I have cropped away my original subject matter to focus on a background element. What you had me doing was holding against the screen my checkbook in one hand, and my IPOD in the other (the closest things on hand) and deciding which sections I would like to focus on. The section you chose has a nice soft calm feel to it. As I looked at it I thought of a little blue fellow gazing off into a wide interesting future. (Now look what you've done, encouraged my inclination to drift off into fantasy land):)
