Description
Captured 9/10/09, around 8 AM, within the confines of my condominium complex.
These are waterdrops from an early morning sprinkler system shower. I wish it was from rain, but that's such an extremely rare occurrence around here that I gotta do with what's given me.
This shot is somewhat akin to MrsRatbag's "Puddles in the Water" posting of 9/7/09, but in a vertical mode.
I took several snaps during this fortuitous waterdrop encounter, which would lead one to the logical conclusion that I was going to post another collage, which has been my usual wont in these situations, but I feel that this time the subject matter was so timely and striking when I came upon it that I'm going to post the pics just one at a time to avoid any distraction, overkill, competition and any need for "favs."
Finally, I'm not sure what the plant was, possibly some variety of gladiola.
Ta-ta, and tallyho.

Beautiful water drops....the leaf reminds me of a Canna leaf, but you have posted Cannas before, so I'm sure you would know if it was one. Regardless, a lovely shot.

Gosh - all these things jumped to mind when I was looking at the image and as I read through the comments, I realized that everyone has said what I wanted to say. So now I will just act as if I didn't read it! This is a very pleasing image Harry - I love the way the droplets get smaller towards the bottom of the image! They look like little crystals sparkling in the sunlight! Excellent image indeed! :)

Very nice water droplet macro. I love water droplet and the ways they bend the light. Great shot.

All I was going to say has been said several times, so... Looking at the great size difference in the drops, I imagine them eagerly combining to form one giant glob of water, that then slowly travels down the leaf (no idea what kind), to fall and drown the poor unsuspecting ant crawling below! And you didn't put a violence advisory. Stunning capture of the murderous water drops!

yes I agree that the lower drops are like tiny jewels. In fatct, the whole leaf has beautiful drops on it. And yeah, sometimes it's nice to give a photo a solo shot. I rarely do that either, and sometimes I have to say to myself, "ah, let it go solo!" A nice bulbous leaf completely covered in varied drops. Nice textures & light too.
