Description

Into the valley of death rode the six hundred; cannon to the left of them, cannon to the right of them... Captured 5/25/09, at the beautiful Los Angeles National Cemetery in beautiful West Los Angeles, California. More than 86,000 veterans, going back to the Civil War, are interred there. A ZOOM is strongly recommended. Toodles, tallyho, and keep your powder dry.

The charge of the Light Brigade...were they heroic or just plain foolish? Another fine collage Harry...crisp, clear photos...all.

Impressive array of guns! There's a big one of these parked in front of a bank on my way to work, don't know why...maybe we're expecting trouble? Nice captures!

I like the second and the last best. A great deal of irony in canons guarding the military dead. Kind of like Cardasians guarding the graveyards of Bajorans. (A useless comparison if you are not a Star Trek DS9 fan, but the best I could think of.) Great shots!

some very nice shots of the sleekness & lines & suppleness of these big monsters. I didn't realize till now how supple they could be, or how lean. The wheels are less cumbersome than I thought, and—I assume—made of wood. Obviously you'd want them to be supple so you could move them quickly in battle, but they really do have a sleekness to them. Nice alternating angles too. Very nice work Harry.

I saw these up close at the Civil War Re-enactment I attended a few years ago. Amazing little powerhouses on wheels. Simply made and functional. These are wonderful shots showing their beauty from all angles. I stare and say WOW... and even oh GEEE... Does that make one of those Cannon in G? (groan... sorry.) Well done, Harry!
