Bryce5 and Photo Shop, Shipmodels and textures by mrx3010, Earth Map, NASA These are suposed to appear as huge motherships entering our atmosphere. It's a still shot from an animation I've been playing with for a while now.

I never cared much for the ending of the novel, but that's a great render. Reminds me of V and Independence Day.

LOL, I realy just named it after the novel because I thought the title said it all. Yes I loved the giant motherships in V and ID4 I thought they were just about perfect in depicting the size and power of the invading forces and thats what I have been trying to get right for some time now. Look for a series of these if all goes well.

I would think the best way to give the illusion of a massive ship, would be to portray it in the classic dinner plate form. IE put the camera ontop or below one casting the edge of one ship against the horizon of your picture, giving the illusion of a massive area. Detailed Texture maps will also add to the illusion. Then if you create other ships and place them further into the picture the viewer can insinuate that they are as large as the afore said ship.

I read the novel for the second or third time not too long ago, and this actually does resemble images that went through my mind. Very cool image, like the very basic look of the ships, and the whole composition. Good Job.
