Description

I was going to choose "Horror" in the Genre category because I am deathly afraid of heights but went with good old Landscape. While I was studying the detail of Devils Tower through my zoom lens I was shocked to see people climbing it! Here are a few images to show you how massive the rock structure really is. If you would like to compare these photos to the full size image see my previous upload: thumb_1943856.jpg I have been in San Diego for a wedding and have not been online for a while (definite withdrawal symptoms here..) I wanted to upload before I left and offer a "Tally-ho and Toodles", as Harry would say, but just couldn't find the time. I hope to get caught up on the galleries soon! Blessings~ Jodie

What an awe-inspiring view; I don't understand the need to climb rocks, but I thank them for giving us a sense of scale! Amazing rocky structure, look at those vertical lines!

Jodie! This is quite impressive.Your Photograph is supeb!!The struture of stone is so very well detailed!nd in the first panel in the right the thin branch..looks romantic to me))...And Horror..i can understand the word! People need challenges of the most varied order and really...i stay astonished!!with the "need" for extreme sports...i understand them for the real need or for the need scientific...in reality, the life is already one:))

Goodness gracious, I never knew the tower was striated like that! It looks of artificial construction with those 2 by 2s all stacked up like that. Love the textures in this one. No wonder the ETs picked this place to make contact with the humans. And, I see you have acrophobia, just like me.

that is amazing.. I love hiking but sorry never got the point of hanging off the side of a mountain, I would rather be where you were viewing it from the bottom. I Hope you got some shots from San Diego its one of my favorite places..

Awesome structures and very well captured and arranged in this collage. Death defying, I can understand your need to class it as "horror">
