Description

After leaving Devils Tower we started to head West toward Yellowstone. We didn't get very far (still in NE corner of Wyoming) before we saw miles of flat prairie. There were signs posted to stop and see the Prairie Dogs. We didn't think we'd see any but they were everywhere as well as burrows and holes for miles. Prairie dogs kept popping up everywhere! (I can't believe I'm saying this but it reminded me of that Whack-a-Mole game.) Only, the posted signs had us roam only on the edges of the fields and not go wandering so as not to disturb the entire clan of 'dogs'. I took a photo of Matt taking a photo of the cute lil guys popping up. They were very brave and let us click away. I've seen them in zoos and they seemed MUCH happier to have us visit them in their natural habitat. Thanks for the view. Jodie

Nice collage of the prairie dogs, Jodie! Looks they're well fed. What does their bark sound like? Grrrr, growl, woof woof, or yap yap? Matt looks lost out there on that vast acreage.

I've browsed through your vacation shots here; looks like you all had a great time and took on a few miles! lol Glad you had such a wonderful time and you are home safe again. (I'm doing well, thank you -- I'm still employed!! LOL)
