Description

In my little world Everyone is scurrying Always worrying How they are going to make it From day to day There are no kings or queens In my little world Only paupers and slaves From birth to the grave The whole world is a descendant to Cain Nobody wants to be their brothers keeper So everyone turns their heads To avoid the living dead Immune to their cries As they walk by So they order their pizza delivery And check out what’s on HBO While a child Climbs in the back seat And rolls up her bedroom window To keep out the cold I had a friend call me the other day to invite me over. What I didn’t know is for most of the last year she was homeless living in a broken down van. We worked in the saw mill together making good money and when it went down she just never recovered good. Now she is getting SS and has a little place to live but I am always amazed how fast things can change for people. That is what boggles my mind when people don’t care because they just never think it can happen to them.

How very true. Unfortunately there's a saying or definition, if you will: There is a difference between a Recession and a Depression: A recession is when your neighbor loses his job A depression is when you lose your job! I am glad that your friend is doing better and I wish only the best for her. Great words

This speaks to me more than your others. Today I am six months unemployed but next month I'll be retired so I'll be ok. I've thought a lot about how "good Christians" have reacted lately to women in wheel chairs and young mothers with sick children. I wish they would read Matthew 25:40 and 25:45 and consider where they are headed. "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' "He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

Sadly this happens to many. Boy do I know how one day things are great, and within seconds everything seems at a loss. WONDERFUL poem Randy. Very touching. Hugs, Rain

In this day of mass communication and insulated lives, misery is both more apparent and more distant. Wonderful work! The third line in the last stanza is a great punch to the gut.
