Description

Ah, tis almost upon us! What ye ask?? WHAT DO YE MEAN WHAT?!?!?!!? International Talk Like a Pirate Day! What else could I be talking about? The word of the day, maties...say it with me now...be AAAARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Avast ye scurvy dogs!! It be International Talk Like a Pirate Day all o're the world!! And a time ta celebrate like the sea ruffians of olde!! (well, maybe without the illegal mayhem and murder....but that doesn't mean we can't have fun!). So grab yer eyepatch, perch yer parrot on yer shoulder and get out yer good deck coat! It be time to party like it's 1699! Get yer Pirattitude on and grab a tankard of warm rum, sit a while in the dimly lit tavern and listen to the tales sold by the crusty old sea dogs what know the tales of the sea so well...And mark well, Dead men....DO tell tales! http://www.talklikeapirate.com/piratehome.html Big thanks to Cap'n Slappy and Ol' Chumbucket and all the other Pirates that make TLAPD the wonderful tradition it is! ~~~~ Yes, that is yours truly and her faithful "Cabin Toy" Scotty, in full Faire costume, WITH REAL SWORDS on the beach in San Simeon, California (yea, we did get a few interesting looks waking across Highway 1 and down to the beach looking like that outside of a Faire environment....eh, what do those 'normals' know about fun!?) Have another "Piratey" thememed image for the morrow for the actual day. But until then, this will have to do. And, again, yes, the title and thumbnail are tributes to Pirates of the Caribbean *blissful sigh*. And can't WAIT for Pirates 4 in 2011!!!! Now the rum really WILL all be gone! Keep a weather eye to the horizon mates, and we be seein' ye soon! ~~~~ Hey! Mikeerson!!! I have a challenge for you for TLAPD next year! And anyone brave enough to take it! Muahahaha! (site mail me if yer interested, swabbies!) Photo (c) 2009 Twilight Productions (thankies ta me mum fer takin' the shot)

Arrrrrrrr! And a Happy Talk Like A Pirate Day to ye, me Captain! An excellent shot, not at all what I expected, but VERY well suited to the occasion! Captures the spirit of what we were trying to accomplish (and spares the brethren here from having to endure me scurvy mug! DUCKS I am so gonna be keelhauled for that!!) A wonderful post for my second favorite holiday winks Well done! ARRRRRR!!!

What a wonderful photo to celebrate a day that really has no other reason than to have some fun. It looks like you were very successful in your Captains Blood and Levasseur outfits. We have the British actor Robert Newton as Long John Silver to thank for the whole "AAAARRRR" thing. He also did a good "Blackbeard" too. Remember the last words of Captain Flint, "Fetch aft the rum, Hardy."

Yer scene gave me innards a pleasant feeling like after a big belch after a few tankards with some scurrvy crewmates. Aaargh it be a fine piece ya scurry dog Iceshark, a piece worth steal'n and plundering if it comes within me cannon's reach Bucko.

Arrr, me penny Sharky-muffin! 'Tis a bit o' snarky wag ye posted, but I hae to agree with it all! An I do see that the female is a Lady, not a wench. (What's the difference between a Lady and a wench? Three feet o' steel, of course!)
