Description

Jack : Tortuga. More importantly, it is indeed a sad life that has never breathed deep this sweet, proliferous bouquet that is Tortuga, savvy? What do you think? Will : It'll linger. Jack : I'll tell you mate, if every town in the world were like this one, no man would ever feel unwanted. Dialogue excerpt (c) Disney 2003 Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl ~~~~ Ah the odiferous emanations of stale rum, pipe tobacco, brisk salt air, unwashed sea dogs, gunpowder, food that you couldn't feed a cur, and a veritable cornucopia of other...unmentionable...odors. *sigh* All that bespeaks of the Buccaneer Haven of Tortuga! What could iconize a pirate more perfectly than that? Rank and gangly sea dogs of always questionable loyalty and distinction. Just as likely to rob you blind as stick a knife in your back (and then rob you blind, but with the added benefit of having offed you so you can't complain to the local constable afterwards. Hey! We're talking about PIRATES here, people!) Wicked sea dogs, salty wenches, a wealth of rum and grog soaked decks and barrels and barrels of HARDTACK!!! *groan and shudder* (if you haven't tried it yet....trust me....DON'T!!!! There's a REASON that stuff lasts forever! ~~~~ The cobbled streets of Tortuga played host to a multitude of these scurvy sea dogs and their cronies during the Golden age of Piracy. And these fine ladies are just waiting to welcome the newest 'visitors' on the island in true piratical fashion...a warm, friendly smile, a suggestive and saucy sashay...a saber and a pistol! (again, pirates, people!) ...now, the question be which lass would ye be wantin' ta keep company with? The saucy tart who might promise you a few hours of pleasure (fer a price, mind)? Or take yer chances with the lass with the cutlass and pistol and hope she only has relievin' you of yer gold on her mind? Just be careful ye don't end up on either of these lassies bad sides...ye might end yer night stuffed in a pickle barrel and tossed out to brave the briny deep...or for a guest shot on the gallows after a brief engagement at the jail. Then again, ye may just get gang pressed into service on a ship and headed out to ports unknown. Just be sure to haul your wind and hold your water when bravin' these tides! And be on the watch for that what might send ye packin' ta meet Davy Jones! Could it be these lovely lasses are the reason all the rum is always gone? ~~~~ Victoria 4.2 -- DAZ Eva textures and morphs -- Liquid Rust Corsair for V4 -- Xurge3D Amphitrite Hair V4 -- 3Dream and Mairy Buccaneer Scimitar -- Ravenhair Pistol -- 3D Universe Stephanie Petite -- DAZ Alina textures and morphs -- DM Productions Spanish Princess -- MAB and WillDupre Coiffure Celeste -- Neftis Tortuga set (building, gallows, jail, garden wall, cart and barrels) -- Evil Clown (when credited on DAZ) aka LukeA (here on Renderosity) Lighting, poses and postwork -- me (thumbnail image V4 Buccaneer swords -- Ravenhair sword textures from Bonny Anne's Locker -- Moyra Bonez skull -- Gareee) HAPPY TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY 2009!!!!! Hardtack, like c-ration fruitcake: only tasted once, even by the rats! 'Sharkie, I'll tell ya, it ain't the babes I'd worry about...were I the type to worry about wimmin...it's what a bloke don't see that'll getchee in the end (and other parts as well). .) <-- A smiley face with an eyepatch. I've walked many places on Caribbean islands, and Antigua fits your description. In your description, you left out: muggy, moist air that makes all these smells stick to your skin and takes the flounce and bounce out of the best clothes and turns them into limp, colorful rags upon a body.

arggh The legendary accounting pirates of The Crimson Permanent Assurance, directed by Terry Gilliam from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life (costing £1 million, most of its budget!): 'In the bleak days of 1983, the Crimson Permanent Assurance, an accountancy staffed by elderly workers much like a slave ship, has been taken over by efficiency-minded corporate types. When they sack an employee, there's an uprising, and the building is unleashed from its moorings to sail across the (dry) ocean and take on the financial centers of the world, starting with an all-out attack on the large skyscraper housing The Very Big Corporation of America, complete with filing-cabinet cannons, ceiling-fan broadswords, and paper-spindle short-swords.'
