Description

My thanks to everyone who stopped by to view my recent Poser rendering "Lost In Thought". I was very delighted at how popular it turned out to be, receiving over 100 hits in the first 24 hours. Here is another photo from my visit to Toronto's High Park Petting Zoo back in June. Every year when I was a boy my mother's extended family would gather for a Family Picnic down in High Park. Wandering the park with my sister, I dimly recall coming upon the peacocks there. But I had no idea that they still kept them (probably not the exact same ones) these days. But soon after my arrival, I easily located the zoo by zeroing in on their loud, distinctive ceaseless squawk. Believe it or not, this is the very first time I've ever seen a peacock with its tail feathers out in full display. And this fellow was really on the make that day. I pity the poor hens that had to put up with him. Though I'm sure they were greatly relieved that his attention was diverted by his much more appreciative human observers. Now if only we could do the egg thing.

Wonderful shot here. I went there as a kid myself, though I never remembered there being peacocks. Admittedly, at the time I was more concerned with going down a large slide they had that ran down the side of a hill.
