My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

Breathtaking capture. Who knew that a door plus stonework could be so interesting. Great find and capture. Very well done. Dana

Oooh, a door! I fell in love with these things while I was wandering around Prague with a guy who needs one more vowel in his name! But anyway, this is great. The colors here are so rich and textured, and the lighting is perfect. You have a knack for this, and well...I live in this dang city and I have absolutely no idea where this door is. North, for sure, but North covers a lot of territory. Hmmm...is this somewhere near where Mark showed you guys? At any rate, I love this picture! In typical Chip-speak, this is one awesomely cool thingie!

(My browser is messing up royally: I've had to retype this 4 times! Hope you didn't get 4000 ebots!) Tara, this is a really fine shot; you captured a 'bulge' here as if you used a fish-eye lens. And you caught the door as if it were laid into a brocade. Just lovely! Seeing my backyard through a great eye. The light across the door itself is fine too—very Tara-esque. A really beautiful shot of a beautiful & intimate door. You know, now that I've seen you photograph, it's even more of a mystery how you terrific photographers do what you do: I could take 200 shots of this door & never capture it nearly the way you did. And whatever postwork you did (if any, other than the crop & sizing) was subtle & perfect. It's really a lovely piece Tara. As for the locale: Specifically, it's the Graham Foundation, a granting foundation for architectural studies—thus those big architectural fragments in the courtyard we went into but weren't supposed to go into, lol. (I wanted to stage a holdup and say, "give us your ornament or else!") And it's one of the 2 buildings that had "Roman brick" (remember, where you wondered how I knew how 'deep' it was?) And it's in the "Gold Coast," that very intimate area we walked in Friday afternoon, with all those late 19th C. homes and stone facades & Victorian & early modern designs; and all the gardens & plant boxes which Marilyn commented on, saying how Chicago has such fine landscaping. Also, the Gold Coast is not 'north of the city', but very much in the center of the city. People call it 'north of the city' because they mean the center of the city...This was appr 1600 North: The city goes to 7200 north, and something like 14,000 south (to give you an idea how 'central' we were). The lake is 3 blocks away; and this was 2 blocks from that dog you photographed, who was really glad to see you; and maybe 2 blocks from that early Frank Lloyd Wright we saw. (If you post it, I'll point it out to you.) This travelogue will cost you big bucks, btw, but since you went to all the trouble & expense of coming here, I'll waive my fee. (You guys should send me a bill, really.) Lovely shot, and so nice to see you in my backyard! (Here, I'm holding up my hand: See the Lake over there? [You looking? It's just past my thumb, jesus...] Ok. Now my first finger—that's the building. Fuggeddit! I can't explain it...)
