Hello,
I am a photographer, I love taking pictures.
I am currently in a relationship in which I am incouraged to be myself. The concept of my ideas and desires being supported came hard to me. This actually took me years to grasp, but he says I am his butterfly and just starting to spread my wings.
Any and all comments are encouraged as well as suggestions too. Thank you for the comments you leave as well as suggestions. I will try to find interesting photo opportunities so that I can give you wonderful pictures to view.

Update: 06-20-09
I have found another family on Renderosity. All the people here are just incredible. Things are starting to change in a really positive direction for me. I am currently starting to do portraits, and am thinking about making this my full time position. One day I hope to tell my boss to jump in the lake. I think having a career that I love and can be proud of is now my goal.
Clarification 09-20-09
I do portraits for family members and friends. I don't charge them because I need someone to practice with.
Well I think I found something that I can be proud of. Not in photography, but in sales. I am my own boss. I can never be fired or laid off. I sell stuff I use and love. So I know I can stand behind it. Just need to build my customer base. Once I do, I will just do this and only this.
       Friends Always,
                            Cheri

A great view of the city - I've never spent any time in Chicago other than changing flights at O'hare or Midway. It must be great to explore a city with a group of friends with a common interest like photography.

Ultra stellar capture of just one portion of the famous skyline of Chicago, that toddlin' town. And now you've added your name to those of that infamous bunch of picture takers that met and bummed around in the Windy City, eh, Cheri! LOL! Did you happen to mention the words, fur ball, to Chipka?

I'm so glad you were able to go be with the gang in Chicago! I've been there once, for a week with my sister in 2005. It was great and I hope to go again someday. If I can ever get through my stacks of negatives, I may post some picks from that trip. What a wonderful idea about meeting in various cities. Maybe someday! (San Antonio in the late fall, winter and early spring has a lot to offer :-)) This is a beautiful cityscape! Very well done!! You're in my heart and thoughts. I know you are strong and a fighter. I have confidence in your ability to fight this. Stay positive!

It was so good to see you and Dave, and to meet Dave's mom. (She said she had a good time, and I think she liked everyone! We sat next to each other at that great coffee bar and had a chance to visit a little.) I love this shot -- the memories of that place and that day will stay with me for a very long time. Gosh ... just looking at this shot makes me hungry, because this was just before lunch and we were all starving!

It was an incredible weekend, bittersweet for me. Friday night we had a gathering, a last good bye for my friends and co-workers who were let go from work. It became a rather somber event, to say farewell to so many. We stayed later than planned, but it became really hard to just leave, even though we were to get up early to head to Chicago. I was really looking forward to meeting this zany lot, but kept thinking all the way down about those I saw on a day to day basis for several years, no longer being as much a part of my life. So after a short night, and a longer than expected drive to and through one of the worst cities to ever drive in, we arrived. It took no time at all to take my mind off my lost friends and family, as we met and conversed with a new one. My mood changed so quickly,...it was more like getting re acquainted with old friends than having met for the first time, and it felt so good! The day was filled with playful talk and laughter, and at the end, we again stayed later than planned and it again became so hard to leave. I wish more had been able to make it, I promise there would have been no regrets, it was a magical day! Sweet shot baby, and this zooms in perfectly!

great city shot

Cheri this is a beautiful shot. The tonal quality, the quality of light & color, is just beautiful; as is the angle & composition. It's gorgeous. You got that afternoon bluish tint, and the domineering presence of the Willis Tower (the old Sears Tower to us Chicagoans)—the tallest bldg in the shot—and a real feel for the massiveness of this city. Tara kept on talking about the "city of broad shoulders"—well, this is one of those shoulders. And yes, it's a huge place & very conducive to photography, especially because it gives distant views of the Downtown section (something that few cities afford). And you do see photographers in areas like this; but not usually in groups of 8! What struck me was that you guys shot & shot while bikers whizzed past, runners ran past (birds staged attacks) while I was jutting back & forth to save my life. And, if you didn't know, you captured a broad swath of the Loop; and I'm glad you included the red building on the right (the CNA bldg): It's perfect counterpart to all that blue & gray. A beautiful shot: I'd show this to anyone if they wanted to know what Downtown Chicago looked like...Wonderful work all around.

Oh yeah, that's downtown home. What a beautiful lakefront shot. The old Hilton Towers on the left brings back memories of the 1968 Democratic Convention riots. One of Gene McCarthy's Secret Service agents knocked me on my butt in the basement of the Hilton. I was in the way, you see, and it taught a 14 year old a great lesson in politics when the senator kept right on talking to the TV reporter as he walked by me. So much for the protector of America's youth.
