Description

I haven't used my Skywyrm in a while, and since the Robustus became available I put him and the skins on sale at 15% off for anyone that is interested. Sale lasts until October 1st. You know, I never realized until doing this image that I never did make a torn membrane trans map that fits with the expanded skins textures. I will have to remedie that and put it up on Sharecg as well, as I made another torn one available a while back, but that only works with the original textures that came with the dragon. All well. I'll tell you, it's not easy getting those wings to billow like that, heh, but I always loved the way that looked. Got that from Reign of Fire too, and I noticed that the Hungarian Horntail dragon from Harry Potter did the same kind of billowing. Looks kick ass, heh. But then ILM did that one. Too bad the Secret Lab (Disney's former in house vfx studio) that did Reign of Fire was disbanded in favor of outsourceing vfx projects. Would love to see another film of that calibur from those guys (not story wise because well . . heh . . . Reign of Fire had plot holes big enough to drive a Mack truck through them :P) But it's not often you get to see a good dragon on the big screen. Hope everyone is having a good week. Cheers, and thanks for looking. Darrin Swidhelm

I did enjoy the dragons on Reign of Fire as well. I haven't messed with the Skywurm in a long time. But then again, I haven't messed with much that wasn't game related lately. Robustus looks like he can give SW a run for his money! Nicely done. Maybe a tutorial on how to get that billow effect is in order?
