Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

How neat. A big city treat. We have a grand fountain in Kansas City where the same thing happens. Local photographers must make a fortune. We're in the wrong business:-)

Reminds me of my vow NEVER to do a wedding ever again.

Buckingham Fountain is indeed a popular place for wedding photos. I took several there myself back when I used to live in that area - but ironically my wife and I didn't think to have our own picture taken there when we got married back in '86. Go figure...

What a great collage of weddings did they have to line up and wait turns to be photographed around the fountain or was it everyone has their own spot... Excellent captures well done!!

I counted about nine and I know there were some I missed. Maybe it's a status thing. You a nobody if you don't have your wedding pictures done here. Great shots and wonderful ninja skills.

I remember at least twelve, there were two parties leaving as we were walking in. I recall the bridesmaids in red looked better than the ones in dark blue with the first two groups...........not that I was looking! Then as we were about a third of the way in, a third party in light blue were just finishing up. This was almost the time Cheri started counting as a couple more were walking to the fountain for their pictures. Good thing the geese don't fly over this much huh??? Can you imagine the pandemonium that would cause? ..............RUN AWAY!!!

That was too funny. Chip said it was like there had been an explosion in the bride factory!

They evidently think it's still June....

great line from Chip! I never heard it till now! (Bows to Tara...) Yes it was amazing to see all those wedding groups; when they walk by they almost seem from another planet since they're all dressed so formally and they congregate in groups. Nice grouping...and I'm glad you posted them because they captured part of that day perfectly. (It was filled with bold sights, etc...the boats some of which you captured later, the big sweeping hills & museums, the runners & bikers who I was dodging everywhere, and those birds on a blitzkrieg who apparently had a grudge with your ancestors...and Chip walking around with a huge soda on his head, not to mention those huge orbs one of which Cheri caught & I never saw!) It's great to see all of you post these shots. And btw, the lady in the right-most shot looks like she's got a bit of a stomach ache...either that or she reeeeeallly doesn't like the groom...
