Description

The first night in Chicago, Tara, Chip, Corey and I walked to dinner and passed this sign. I didn't have my camera (gasp!!!), so Chip let me use his to take a shot. But when i went to upload it to my laptop, I got these weird virus warnings and it wouldn't work. So, Saturday night, he and I walked back and I finally got my shot. We wanted to go in and check this place out, but the line was out the door and down the street!! It was pretty cool actually, the streets were full of people coming and going, all dressed up, ready for whatever came their way. Chicago has great energy and I just loved being out in it, if only for a little while!! Oh yeah, I was doin this walking in some hot shoes--that damn near killed me!!

I need to find a home for my huge collection of French tart shoes, I took a pair to the Golden Wedding the other day to wear with my posh long frock and left them in the car: wore my flip-flops to the lunch! And to think I used to tango in them!

Night lights of an alive city...totally cool. Comfortable shoes are an absolute must. I've finally reached the point where comfort is far more important than looks... Great looking sign!

What a cool sign! I just get more and more envious of you guys that had the opportunity to visit Chicago with super tour guides like Chip and Corey.

Oooooh, I remember this! I wish the line was shorter because it's a cool place. It's funny how everyone was so dressed up! It was fun walking around looking for that place. Funny how one block makes a difference! The colors here are fantastic and I love the way it all stands out against the perfectly dark background. Funny, you don't see ANY of the rest of the city behind it, despite the fact that there was a LOT going on around this sign. This is a perfect shot!

I was with you guys, too, that first night...and I remember you standing there gazing at the sign & everyone really thrilled that you were capturing it because it was so much from the 60s (or even earlier). I didn't realize you had to go back: That was the night I had to leave! Now I have a souvenir of the one night I couldn't join you. But watching you take the original was wonderful, because you zeroed in on so many things that I never saw, even though I've walked these streets countless times...the joy of seeing one's home through someone else's eyes...I'll be back for more...I just wanted to comment on some of your uploads before I went to sleep. See you soon, sojourner!

That's a great sign, and I'm glad you persevered and got your shot! My favorite thing about that sign is that it's only about three blocks from Reza's! LOL!
