Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I need to find a home for my huge collection of French tart shoes, I took a pair to the Golden Wedding the other day to wear with my posh long frock and left them in the car: wore my flip-flops to the lunch! And to think I used to tango in them!

Night lights of an alive city...totally cool. Comfortable shoes are an absolute must. I've finally reached the point where comfort is far more important than looks... Great looking sign!

What a cool sign! I just get more and more envious of you guys that had the opportunity to visit Chicago with super tour guides like Chip and Corey.

Oooooh, I remember this! I wish the line was shorter because it's a cool place. It's funny how everyone was so dressed up! It was fun walking around looking for that place. Funny how one block makes a difference! The colors here are fantastic and I love the way it all stands out against the perfectly dark background. Funny, you don't see ANY of the rest of the city behind it, despite the fact that there was a LOT going on around this sign. This is a perfect shot!

I was with you guys, too, that first night...and I remember you standing there gazing at the sign & everyone really thrilled that you were capturing it because it was so much from the 60s (or even earlier). I didn't realize you had to go back: That was the night I had to leave! Now I have a souvenir of the one night I couldn't join you. But watching you take the original was wonderful, because you zeroed in on so many things that I never saw, even though I've walked these streets countless times...the joy of seeing one's home through someone else's eyes...I'll be back for more...I just wanted to comment on some of your uploads before I went to sleep. See you soon, sojourner!

That's a great sign, and I'm glad you persevered and got your shot! My favorite thing about that sign is that it's only about three blocks from Reza's! LOL!
