Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I am with Andrea, your guts is comendalble maz, I have terrible virtigo, and had to skip past this image quickly :)...But it is a good shot with a scary yet brilliant POV, well done.

Now, I like this a lot...absolutely no problem for me:) This is just brimming with colors, reflections and a grand DOF. I got stuck once in the Munich Airport...all glass walls...my plane boarding time was approaching fast and I couldn't find my way out of their aluminum and glass maze. Remind you of trying to get out of this store?

LOL welcome to the Midwest. That's exactly why you couldn't find the door. Great shot girl.

Beautiful glistening glassy view. Very surreal. Outstanding Marilyn!

Oh my gods! It's the Warp Core! I have almost this exact same shot, but I didn't get the glistening bits as sharply as you did. I like this a lot, and a lot more! Okay, I just let a Star Trek-ism slip out, but hey...that thing DOES look like a warp core! And yeah, I had no idea that the mall was such a TALL place! You caught this perfectly, and I think glass is one of your talents, which shows here perfectly! WOW!

Wonderful POV and fun story. Great capture!

What a great shot! That was such a marvellous place to be when everyone else was gone. I loved the emptiness, even though we were momentarily turned around! (Okay ... more than once ... but still!) And the food! Gosh ... who'd have ever thought we could find food that good in a mall??

Great perspective!

Great POV, it makes a brillant abstract - are you sure they haven't built it on the site of Hotel California?

this is hard to see because I didn't get to join you all, but it's a vital burst of a shot. (And that's where you ate saturday night! I'm sorry I couldn't have been with you all...) As for it being empty, part of it may have been the end of the holiday, but it's always a trip to be in a massive building when few people are around...Anyway, none of that addresses your shot: A real burst of light & reflection & line & glass & metal, and of course that plunge of looking down into the abyss. Another "Marilyn" shot, for all its movement & vitality & light, and I agree that glass is one of your things as Chip says: You and Tara both have such a thing for it, yet you both do it in uniquely different ways. A vital fugue of a shot, and I'm glad the food was good: I figured you guys would go to Reza's again! (They owe me a free dessert!) So you got inside the Hancock: Did you go into the parking garage, lol? It's a kind of ugly building, but it's classic for Chicago, and it's great that you were looking right into it from your bedroom window...
