Description
Captured 9/19/09, around 11 AM, in Artesia, California.
Roaming about the decrepit streets of this mostly less than opulent city while seeking foto targets of opportunity, I came across this rather rundown division between two houses, featuring the neglected picket fence. In fact, everything around there was neglected.
Anyway, I left the sidewalk and ninja-ed my way into the confined area and snapped this testimony to the nonpride of home ownership.
Just to emphasize the deteriorating conditions, I did a bit of nonSharilyn grunging in these shots.
Nos.1 & 3 are the originals; Poster Edges filter used on #2; Smudge Stick filter used on #4.
Thankx for stopping by, and tallyho.

Well Harry - you created art out of the neglect - that's for sure. I love the crooked line of the fence giving real depth to the images. Well done indeed! :)

The fence is marvelous; I might have tried to blur out some of the surroundings, just on general principle (I think maybe that's how I got used to seeing the world, through a blurry haze). At any rate, well spotted, and I think of the filtered versions I prefer the smudge stick.

Great shots with very nice grunge work!

Like a last picture as worked with a filter. Sure they not a tidiest ppl on the planet...lol. But maybe they just bought a property and they in a process to do it up. They have a big dog that is for sure.

Great ninja skills Harry, I am so proud of you. Using you stealth to obtain such a fine shot to play with LOL. Great capture and this time Number two is my choice.

Another with ninja skills?? Soon no one or anything will be safe from the likes of this growing army. From the the words accompanying this I would say that having the ninja skills in this neighborhood would be a very handy thing to have. You are carrying smoke bombs with you right? Cheri never goes out without them anymore, just in case someone has that sense that someone is watching them. I've seen it happen, and as they turn,...Poof", and she's gone! It looks to me like the fence is trying to get away from the house. Perhaps a fresh coat of paint would coax it back. Pretty cool work, I find it amazing that I sat here intrigued by a fence, that alone should speak volumes!

Great shots of this poor fence---it has a lot of character!!

2 is my fave fence shot. It's a real shame when property is not taken care of, but it gave you a nice photo opportunity. I see a doghouse, but no dog to challenge you during this photo op.

Harry...you be careful in those areas..those fences would not hold a resident pit bull...that said..like number three...

Poor old fence! I go for #4. Great shots!

Probably a rental...or could the ladder be a sign of good intent? I am a Poster Edges fan myself as it seems to enhance quite a wide variety of subjects. You get an A+ for effort on this neat collage Harry:)

No good to keep my dogs in! Very interesting pics, Harry!

This is very cool! I love the angle you've captured here, Harry. We have a fence a bit like this, I'm afraid. One stiff wind and it leans the other direction. I guess it's one long weather vane!

Looks like a mishap one could have coming back from the bar at 2.00am. Nicely seen and captured O'lboy. Cool postwork too, I like how the bottom one looks like it could be a painting!
