Description

(More imaginary comic) Every comic needs villains, so here are the MacKay brothers, Blade (on the left, fresh out of the Wellington County Jail) and Shadow, coming up Tim Lindholm's barn ladder (Tim hasn't missed it yet). Blade and Shadow's names would be more awesome if you didn't know that their full versions are "Blades of Grass" and "Shadow of Trees". The third brother, Dragonfly Hovers, is about 35 feet below them in a dinghy on some pretty nasty water. You'll see him in the next picture. The MacKays, after a few years of scavenging metal off the outside of the base, are now going *inside* the base. They had an easier entrance they were using on the south side, but it got a little..creepy, so they are following the advice of a previous scavenger that Blade had shared a holding cell with in Wellington, and climbed up onto the wreck of the "factory" above the factory pool. And just as promised, there was a door, wide open. The cell guy had a couple of other pieces of what Blade considered human chickensh*t advice--"go when it's cold, go after dark..and wear a hat". He also said he stopped going inside the base despite the fact there was good metal in there, because it was too nerve-wracking, and after he had a bulb blow in his torch he decided he'd never go back. But the MacKays have found something so fabulous that they are willing to deal with... most.. of what is in there to get it..but they also need to figure out *how* to get it out. It won't fit out the door up here. Shadow doesn't like this entrance because he doesn't like heights, doesn't like all the loose metal, and doesn't like the fact that it is only 15 minutes brisk walk to the Newton Watch Station, where Dawn and Frank are arguing about ordering new radios. Dawn wants the waterproof ones, Frank says they are too expensive. Blade is old M2 with Anton Kiesel's default tex, and Shadow is wearing the hilarious Ildiko Dancer hair (it has a long braid in the back, and is "readable" at a distance, which will be handy later;) Blade is also ponytailed (these guys would look like ZZtop if they grew facial hair). THe background is a scan of a piece of marble and a boatload of photoshop, and if you look close you can see a (big) bug laying eggs on the ridge.
