I stopped yesterday at a store and saw these clouds and grabbed a few shots.good I did because when I came out they were gone.first time for me to see such a formation. if there are any metallurgists among the crowd here, they can identify them they are wave clouds http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wave_clouds.jpg thanks for viewing and any commets

I'll be! I saw the exact same thing this past weekend and had no camera with me at the time. but I'd never seen this ripple pattern before and I just had to stare. Really outstanding shot of them.

Great capture Richard.. Excellent exposure.. What the cloud type is I do not know.. Check out on a 'METEOROLOGY" site. Maybe you could post some of Your amazing photos..
