I stopped yesterday at a store and saw these clouds and grabbed a few shots.good I did because when I came out they were gone.first time for me to see such a formation. if there are any metallurgists among the crowd here, they can identify them they are wave clouds http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wave_clouds.jpg thanks for viewing and any commets

I seen the same thing up here in Missouri the other day also. Didn't have my camera with me though, of course. Wonderful shot though!

Wave clouds are always a joy. We get them in Chicago quite a lot, usually just before local astronomers want to go and see something fun like...oh, say...Saturn. Needless to say, amateur astronomers hate these things, but I like them quite a lot. Great shot.
