Description
A full shot of a memorial at Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee. This is more difficult to shoot than it may look. As one of the more prominent memorials it is heavily photographed, but most photographers choose to shoot it symmetrical looking straight on at the center. But I always felt that angle, although easiest to shoot, never showed the true depth of the design.
And I've shot it that way, and many other ways too, but never happy with shots of the entire structure. I usually settled with a portion in an abstract sort of way, like my post last week called Life, Death - Then Life and Love Eternal which is the inscription at the top of the Greek columns.
But last Saturday Julia and I went back to Elmwood, and this time I shot 3 vertical shots and stitched them together. The final result is the post here, and for the first time I like the results. But it was a bitch stitching the 3 shots together. Too many straight lines to contend with!
Thanks for stopping by!
