Description

This was the left view from my hotel's restaurant. The holiday went well though because I am me lol - I did have a mishap!! I was due to be picked up from near the hotel at 9.30am on the last morning of the holiday. I started packing the night before as one does. I was asleep at 6am the morning I was due to leave, the phone rang with an hysterical man telling me "get down now, strike, strike, you must go". Half asleep and being well fed up with being woken up, I said "sorry you have the wrong number". Little did I know. He went on to excitedly say that all the other people from my flight were waiting. I got up, no time for any relaxation, still startled, I finished packing very quickly indeed. I got down to the reception within 10 mins, everyone else from my hotel had gone on the coach. So there I was, chucked into a little 3 wheeler cart with all the guests luggage and driven at great speed through the tiny streets of Sorrento at 6.10am. Over bumps, me in shock before finally arriving at the main coach terminus with all other guests standing there looking shocked at my "entrance". There was a dockers strike planned that morning from 8am on the main road to Naples which would have meant nobody would have got to the airport. All guests had to be past the strike area if their flight was before late afternoon. Guess who had not been informed??? Yep me- arrgh. I had gone to bed early and the holiday rep had been to the hotel in the evening and everyone who was out for dinner had a note put with their door key so they got it on their return, as I was in my room then my note was still in my key pigeon hole the next morning, nobody thought about phoning me!! It is so funny now but it wasn't at 6am. Oh well a little adventure on my holiday. Susan Thank you for your support on my previous post "Good morning Sorrento"

Fortunately they did not left you in the hotel! ;) However, the most important thing is that you've had a nice holiday and that Sorrento and other Italian places you liked them! :)

Beautiful capture of a beautiful place! Sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh...sounds like something I would do :) Things are always funnier "after the fact". Really glad things turned out ok!
