Description
Default NWDA preset - added DandelO planet grass node for color and Glen 5700 fractalized voronoi tgc just to see what would happen. In PS I brightened some bright areas and dulled some dull ones. Render time 32 minutes, unskilled PS adjustments 10 minutes.
In short I added next to nothing to the free NWDA preset and free DandelO's wonderful grass clip file. If you've been avoiding TG2 because it is hard to get started, you should try again.
I like very much standing on the shoulders of those that came before me. Now if only I had some talent to contribute!!!

They've got broad shoulders, that lot over there. For me the scene could use a touch more contrast; I'm assuming your "unskilled PS adjustments" included either auto-levels, auto-colour, or auto-contrast. If desired try a shallow S curve in Image>Adjustments>Curves to give it that extra zhoosh.

Thank you WeeLaddie, I think that might have helped it out a little. All I did was dodge and burn where I dodged the highlights a little and burned the darker areas. And also I saturated the center areas a little and desaturated the outside border area. I think the s-curve curves is a pretty good idea. BTW, I tried to leave a comment on the two boys on the beach scene that you had, now THAT was a GREAT piece of work. My only goal on this one was to play with the NWDA free preset and attempt to show how much you get for nothing. TG2 is worth jumping into, there is no-one here that couldn't do it. My challenge to the gang is to give it a go and if you have a question - scream for help. You'll get it, there is no need to be frustrated (though that does happen once in a while).

Beautiful surface, nice depth..and the clouds are lovely. Thanks for the nudge.

This is very natural looking, my friend. It could even be a photograph taken in difficult conditions. Perhaps better, for being simpler, than so many TG2 offerings. I have TG2, and registered, but I just cannot get the hang of nodes. I feel more at home in TERRAGEN 0.943 and VUE. Perhaps I should devote some time to TG2 ( assuming, that is, that I get some time to do so .. ;o) ) Warm regards, from an icebound Glasgow, John.
