Description

This is not a typical fountain. The water shoots up through the bottom and suspends and rotates the ball. This was just a really cool site to see. I love fountains, however the the fact that there was enough PSI (pound per square inch) to not only suspend it but cause it to rotate freely was amazing. it was huge and heavy. It was bigger then my moon on the ground ball, and I believe it was marble. This was taken on our Chicago gathering. I looked down a path walked up a bit and snapped which then got everyone to come look. That's when we decided to see what else was on this playground. I think we spent at least an hour probability wandering around this place, taking photos of the different objects we ran across and just stopping to chat here and there. This was definitely a really cool day. Can you imagine all of Renderosity getting together in one place. I still wonder now and then what it would be like. Still waiting to get everything straighten out, and still really wore out from yesterday's Dragon Boat Festival. I wasn't even the one in the boat, just the photographer,LOL. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers, all the love and positive vibes, and all the lit candles. Thank you for looking and all the wonderful comments you leave. I love you all. Peace and love, Cheri

Terrific POV, clarity and lighting in this capture of the awesome jet black orb and environs, Cheri! A bowling ball to end all bowling balls.

WOW!! I love this new program of yours, everything looks so big and perfect now, just the way you took it!! Harry is almost right, if there were finger holes this would make a great bowling ball, of course there would then be the problem of finding someone who could lift it! The fact that it floats on a cushion of water, constantly spinning, but.....you can stop it and start it moving in another direction is so cool! I like that you saw this first and grabbed a shot before the rest of us caught up, and then ninja'd everyone else as they became enthralled with it. My sneaky girl!!! Next time we get down that way I'm bringing this back home with us, I'll just have Harry help load it into the trunk, have some holes drilled into it and voila, A GREAT BOWLING BALL!!! Roll this puppy down the middle and your guaranteed a strike every-time! Of course I'm not real sure how this will manage the ball return, but that will be the lanes problem right?

Wow!!! That's got to be the best shot anyone took of this fountain. Excellent capture! I can almost see it spinning. The light is great, and that tree behind the ball really sets it off nicely! Wonderful composition and quality.

You really were on the look-out for amazing orbs when you were in the Windy City. Great shot or a unique fountain.

Ah, yes, the Mysterious Sphere, so near the Curious Globe Missing The Southern Half Of The World. And Stanley Kubrick is nowhere around. This is a very nice shot of this interesting work of art, and as Tara says, propably the best one made by the group! It has an ominious sci-fi quality about it in this photo that wasn't readily aparent there in the park. A wonderful, slightly sinister slow -burn capture.

This is a fountain? WOW... I want one in my yard! There is something wonderful about circles. They are so perfect and one with water would be the best. Great shot!
