Description

Hello, I thought I'd post this after being inspired by Giger and recieving a great image gift by Joe,3x3!Thanks mate, this ones back at ya:). So, I do alot of detail stuff anyway but purchased a Giger Book 2 days ago and enjoyed alot of the art.Alot of It I had to tear out and throw away as it was really some demonic sick porn kind of stuff.I thought he just done sexy alien beasts etc.Half the books gone as I dont want the kids seeing any of his other stuff. ... Thanks for your kind remarks on my last image . Im not posting anything else except my Halloween entry so I'll catch up with you all soon:) Good evening, cal

Hi Cal, this is an incredibly well done piece – I LOVE IT! I wanted to do some giegerisch stuff with zbrush myself for quite some time now, but never found the time to do something due to too much work needs to be done first :-(. But as soon as I got some time for experimenting again I’ll try my hands on something like that myself. I bet it was extremely much fund to do this awesome piece!!!! More like this pleeese :-)

Yes, Giger's stuff is pretty much twisted and 'demonic porn stuff', but I guess that's why people remember his work. You managed to capture his style, though. Great work as usual, Cal, really nice modeling work!

He was inspired by his live and looked with artist-eyes at everything, some kind of nightmarish dementia! Do you know, that one of the girls he painted was his girl-friend who had done suicide! I haven´t thrown away any pages, but have locked the books away from my children! Great one!!!

Stunning, cool use of the repeating forms - especially in the background to frame the main figure. I like the depth of the design it, really helps make the image.

From what I've read of the artist in my own books Giger led quite a tortured existance and his works aren't "kid stuff" to begin with, virtually almost everything he's done is disturbing to some degree or another ~ depending on how easily one is disturbed, of course. Lovely Z work to be commended and a fine looking image, but quite honestly this strikes me more as a blatant copying of an artist's unique style than an "inspired" tribute. 5 stars nonetheless, I can certainly appreciate the work you've put into this.

Yes, even the thumb immediately screamed Giger - awesome image! And yeah, apart from his alien and beast work, he's got some serious hardcore tastes and fetishes going on.
