Hello,
I thought I'd post this after being inspired by Giger and recieving a great image gift by Joe,3x3!Thanks mate,this ones back at ya:).
So, I do alot of detail stuff anyway but purchased a Giger Book 2 days ago and enjoyed alot of the art.Alot of It I had to tear out and throw away as it was really some demonic sick porn kind of stuff.I thought he just done sexy alien beasts etc.Half the books gone as I dont want the kids seeing any of his other stuff.

I definitely see the Giger inspiration in this one. Some of his stuff is a bit over the top sexually though. He is a brilliant artist regardless. Nice work as always.

I like this work, and hope you didn't really tear up your Giger book. Honestly - and with no disrespect intended to you here - the direction of this is as pornographic (or not) as any of Giger's work - the implied sexual motif of the woman on her hands and knees, the overt bondage, the explicit use of symbols relating to death and demonism, the mixing of the human form with the demonic, the dark other-world or the mechanical. What I am saying is that "pornography" is not merely concerned with overt sexuality, but is also overt violence - where either of them have no artistic merit they are pornography regardless of sexual content or lack of sexual content. Yes, that makes half of TV porn and film and I argue that to be true. It also makes most if not all of Giger's work NOT porn, though certainly disturbing. I wonder - and again no disrespect intended - if this is also not too disturbing and image for children in any event... Nice work overall!

Yeah.....as soon as I saw it I thought "Giger"....I agree some of his work shouldn't be viewed by children....but you've captured his "style" perfectly here man!....Love it!!....Excellent image Cal!...your ZB-ing never ceases to amaze me mate!!

Great piece here Cal! Love the details. Whats funny is you tear out the pages of your art books for the sake of your kids whereas I keep my art books up and away so my kids do not tear out the pages. I look forward to seeing your Halloween entry. John KP

Great detail and a great style. It didn't remind me of Giger when I first looked at it, but I see the inspiration now. Bit of a shocker to hear about the "dodgy" content in his book, like you I also thought he just did alien creatures! Oh well, better to be safe with the kids around ;) Impressive work as always, Cheers, Paul.

I've only seen some of his stuff online, so wasn't really aware of the fact that he did sick porn stuff. For sure best for the kids to not see it. No matter where you hide something like that, they are sure to find it. This image you've created here is much better then Giger .. in my opinion .. as someone else mentioned, I'm not a huge fan of his works. Just like some of his things. This is intricate and mind boggling .. so much to see!!

Being a HUGE giger fan, I absolutely love this biomechanical piece. You manage to capture so well, some very prominent Giger themes and seamlessly weave in your own distinctive style,.. something that's not easy to do. Outstanding work!!
