Description

I hope you all like doors, because I've got enough for a series! Chicago is full of beautiful architecture, and I could spend weeks there just shooting doorways. This one reflects Lake Michigan and Lakeshore Drive. I stood there for the longest time waiting for a car-free shot! (And notice I'm not in there, either. I'm hiding behind the post.) :P The imperfect reflection is because the glass in the doorway is old and wavy, and the panes aren't perfectly aligned. I love old glass - it has so much character!

Great. Bring on the doors...the architecture, not the rock group! This one is gorgeous. I am trying to figure out if that is sand piled up behind you or is it rock/stone? This doorway is of a classic style.

The glass has character, all in the reflections. There is a character I do not see though - the photographer! Well done on hiding for this stunning shot! Great number too! Clive

This is beautiful. Our house has lead glass like this. I love the fact that it's not perfectly straight and has waves.

Beautiful shot! The imperfect panes add a lot to the mood. I grew up in Chicago and never tired of the beautiful architecture around me.

I say they ought to bring back the old brass kick plate on all double doors. They just really make a great first impression. Wonderful shot and congrats on managing to hide yourself from view and still get a super straight-on shot!
