Description
a wet leaf
golden brown
slightly frayed and torn
stuck
to my shoe.
plucking it off
I hold it
softly
in my hand
thinking
tracing
the many veins
and shades
of faded
colour
as I feel
the wet leaf
with one finger
I trace, too
a tear
falling down
my cheek.
I sigh
while
I remember
summer
with you,
knowing
fall
brings changes.
all... changes
I hold still
this brown leaf
crushed
in my fist.
