Description
Intrepid Class Deep Space Explorers are designed for mid-range exploration missions lasting up to five years in duration. They carry a Deep Space Scout in addition to their moderate shuttlecraft complement. Intrepid Class ships are not capable of landing on planetary surfaces.
Intrepid Class vessels have proved adequate to their assigned tasks but have been found to be slightly under armed. All Intrepid Class ships have been retrofitted with additional dark matter beam emitters to address this issue.
