Description

my pawns have been sleeping for quite some time, but yesterday i saw 'the thomas crown affair', a not so bad remake of the 1968 movie. in it was magritte's famous painting 'the son of man' and the clever way thomas crown used that figure. this, together with the famous 'ceci n'est pas une pipe' inspired me to this pawn image. this is not a magritte by a long way.

Looks like I'm going to have to view this movie, either one so I can have a reference. However, this is a great bit of work! really like how one blends into the next into the next! Excellent work

I think Beatles Yello Submarine when viewing this one. This has much commercial value as well as just being a fine work of modern art Bravo

3DClassics wrote a great comment...You got all the elements of the original, and you turned it into a Koosie piece through & through. From Magritte, the hat, the apple & its shade, the 4 leaves, the red of the tie, the black of his coat (here, your pawn body), the wall behind, etc. But it's still yours. A delightful collaboration between you and René, an effortless meeting of two artists, and a joy to see the pawn back again. This is delightful, Koosie! (I'm only doing an image per gallery tonight, but I'll get to your others very soon!) Wonderful upload, I love when you pay homage in your uniquely deft way!
