Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Spent my years through high school doing exactly this every summer. Great shot. Fine memories.

This is super! WOW! It's all cold and dreary in Chicago and I'd love to be in Southern California...this picture draws me that way even more...the colors are fantastic...the white sea foam has just a whisper of a hint of gold and it brings out the skin-tones of the water-worshippers, which always works well! This is well seen and incredibly rich in complex emotions...it's calm and restful, but it is also exciting and playful. It walks that balance perfectly.

Super contrast, lighting, sihouetting and textural effects in this one, M! Although it's the ocean, this shot has somewhat of a stairstep feeling about it, what with one set of waves at a distance, seemingly above the other.

Great shot, I'd love to be there, just hanging, traipsing the beaches of southern Cal. I'd invite you here, but if you think back home is cold, you really wouldn't like Wisconsin very much right now! It's even gotten to the point where I'm thinking I'll be wearing a jacket to work soon! It's been getting down in to the lower thirties at night..............I want summer back!!!

Marilyn you heard him, or at least read him. I'm holding him to it. This is a great shot. I almost missed it. I got an ebot for the surfer dude, but not for this one. I love this one. Very awesome.

There have been times when I've been away from home that I get lost in the fresh abscence of my old life. It would be lovely to be able to pick up and take up in a new place that felt so good... This playful scene is so super charged with fun and promise.
