Greetings to the people of Earth.
I've always wanted to say that! Now that I did, I can now get on with other things.
I'm a science fiction writer (not famous yet) born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I've lived in the Czech Republic and Germany, and though I am currently back in Chicago, much of my heart remains in the Czech Republic. Maybe it's the beer. Or the bread. I hope to live in Moscow soon, as a big portion of my heart already resides there. I've had an interest in science fiction since an early age and will probably maintain that interest for the rest of my life. I love SF, and anything else that embraces the spirit of discovery...or anything that chafes against the arbitrary boundaries of "conformity."ÂÂ
I discovered Renderosity a couple of years back when I was browsing the internet, looking for cool images to spark my imagination during a period of writer's block. It wasn't a serious block, but I needed something to make me ask the sorts of questions that I always ask before settling down to craft a short story or novella. Since that time, I've written quite a lot and I've begun to post photographs and other visual works that I created here...partially because I love the Renderosity community in general, and partially because the images and text-snippets that I have contributed here are something of an ongoing journal. I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to journal keeping, and so posting picures of particular significance actually helps me to remember the things I want to remembe, without having to eat into my fiction writing time by writing non fiction. Well, at least that's my excuse and I am sticking with it.
I entered into the field of photography totally by accident; I'd always been interested in capturing small stories, but it wasn't until my journey to Europe that I began to consciously seek out tableaus that imply stories in progress. As a result of that, my writing is growing in unexpected directions, and I look forward to becoming more and more active here, and in other artistic/publishing fields.
For those looking at my gallery, enjoy it and feel free to leave comments and sitemail! Good day to all!

Splendid view! :)

My dislike of cities, especially ones with tall faceless buildings, will never leave me. But I feel that I have shared your special weekend.

beautiful ! I hope to visit Chicago one day !

Wow!!! Cheri posted a view of this skyline a while back, but hers didn't include the boats. We went on several adventures this summer, and took my mom along for most of them. This one day, out of all the others will be the one I remember and think about the most! I can even recall most of the conversations, who said what, and where we were at that particular point. I'll not ever forget it either, I didn't want for it to end. Well done my friend,.....till we next meet!

Great narrative, chip. I can tell by your postings and those of the others that you fed off each others enthusiasm and creativity. What a great time it must have been.

What a beautiful view. I only know the inner city from trips through the city (avoiding the tolls) OR in the winter and in the dark! Nice to see this view of it. It's crisp and lovely

Oh, my friend, it will remain in my heart forever as well. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed my time there, how much I hated to leave, and how hard the next week was! Thank you for this ... an excellent photo, and a beautiful memory.

What an amazingly crisp, clean 'Urban Landscape', almost like 'Lego-land'! Did you sharpen this in the imaging processing ? BTW. speaking of Moscow, I am reading a book at present, written by our own Australian ABC-Journalist to Russia, Monica Attard, called: "Russia, Which Way Paradise ?" Quite the eye-opener. BB

I have been to this city to visit my brother and his family while they lived there. My best memory is of this lake view, and also the river that flowed through the city. A crisp skyline, on what looks like, to be a windy and nippy day..

I remember this place and have a shot almost the same. It was right before or after I took that foto of your hand!!

I am spoiled...I only got to see the neat, trimmed parks, the shiny skyscrapers and the inside of the Museum of Science and Industry...all on a sunny, comfortable day. However, coming from New York, I know the dark side is always close at hand. This is a fine photo and fits right in with the good fellowship I know you all enjoyed.

It is a lovely photo and and even lovelier memory. Sharing things with friends can make even the largest city intimate. CC

Another city of the Great Lakes! I am struck by how much Chicago resembles Toronto in this scene (minus the CN Tower of coarse). Cities of the lakes seem to be connected by some kind of mystical bond which reflects in their layout and even the sorts of apparent architecture.

Peaceful and beautiful pict.

The city never looked better. Every time I find myself getting sick of Chicago ( $20 to park the car, the CTA raising fares again! The highest taxes in America! The worst postal service in the country! Rampant corruption ETC ) I take a good long look at the lake, the skyline, and the public parks and think, " not too shabby...guess I'll stay another year." A great shot and a wonderful day well remembered.

Fabulous pic of the skyline, seems you had a great day.
