I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

I'm kinda glad that my mother never picked me up like this,.....now that I think of it, I'm kinda surprised she ever picked us up at all!! Shots like this always amaze me, the Moms with their big pointy teeth, looking out for and transporting their young, without causing them any harm what so ever! This is a beautiful shot in so many ways!

And he just goes limp. How that reminds me of my boy when he was little. Take him out with me and 10 minutes into shopping he would give out. He'd sit himself down on the store's floor and refuse to get up. I'd reach down to pick him up and he'd go limp and I'd look like the abusive mom as I tried to get a grip on slithering arms and legs so I could hoist the bawling "sack of pototoes" over my shoulder and slink out to the parking lot with him. :-) I gotta say, this mom seems to know she's got control where I was never sure who was in charge between me and my boy. :-) Stellar shot and so fearlessly close you are!

A mother's deft and delicate touch! The poignant image captured in this shot is absolutely wonderful, Carin! Although inadvertent, I love the sepiatone effect in this fabulous miniseries.
