Description
You shared so many pictures of the girls, Bernie, and the red boys with us. I wanted to share the rest of our four legged family in our house with you. You have seen Dave and Ryan, well these are family too. They were all rescued in some way or form.
Momma - She is the oldest of the clan not sure but about 13. She would hang around Dave's brother's house. During his divorce he moved in with Tom in April. In June this little Momma to be started coming over. One night in June it was going to be unusually cold. They didn't want to see her or her unborn babies die, so Dave got out his loop and looked her over for fleas and mites. Tom had a dog named Ebony and they didn't want to risk infestation. Momma was remarkably clean, no bugs. It was so obvious she had been a outside cat all her life. she was very tiny and malnourished. She is Demon's mom.
Salem & Cow - Born Oct 3rd, 1999 My neighbor's prize Maine Coon got out of the house and was impregnated by unknown assailant, who she was positive was not a Maine Coon. She put the kittens in a garbage bag and was walking down to the lake. I knew what she was going to do, but I didn't mention it. I said hi to her and told her I knew of good homes for the kittens if she wanted me to take them off her hands. She handed them to me. I let the vet know, he brought out formula and a teddy bear with most of the stuffing taken out. Showed me how to heat the formula to the right temp, and put these little bottles in the teddy bear with the nipples sticking out like a momma cat, then hold it up against me to feed them, every two hours. All the kittens survived and most went to good homes. Salem & Cow well they stayed with their mom ( me).
Demon- born at the end of June 2001. Dave and I had been talking now for about three weeks, both online and on the phone. I get this email from him. All it says is " I'm a daddy again." LOL I was heart broken. I didn't know he meant the kittens. He called a few hours later and explained it was the kittens. You have no idea how relieved I was. There was so much running through my head at that point, I almost didn't answer the phone. Anyway so here is our Demon and he is a Daddy's boy. Dave and I would be IMing on the computer and all in the sudden I would get a jfsdkajdkldfj , I was like ok. He would say Demon wanted to talk to you too. Demon is still on Dave's lap when he is online. I took a picture of it and Dave made it his avatar.
Karma - She was less than a year when she came to live here. That was in 2007. She belonged to Dave's daughter. She wanted a puppy and her mom told her she would have to get rid of the cat. So Karma is here now, and I wouldn't trade that little character for all the tea in China ( I love tea by the way).
Callie - She was a kitten last October. We found her wondering outside the house. Her tummy was extended, we thought she was pregnant. It was really getting cold. Dave pulled out his loop and a flashlight, checked her for fleas and mites, she had none. We confined her to the third floor apartment , which was empty, with a litter box and food. Dave took her to the vet and had tests run on her. She had no worms and was not currently pregnant. The vet said she was to young to be and it looks like she lost a litter. It was supposed to be until we found her a home but we fell for each other and she is here too.
We are at full capacity currently. Right at the limit.
So jendellas you have shared your family with us, I now share mine with you. These are our four legged family members.
Thank you for looking and all the comments on my previous posts. Thank you for all the love, positive vibes, prayers and lit candles. Most of all thank you for you. I love you all.
Love and peace,
Cheri
