My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Sensational capture and once again you have managed to stay out of the picture. Very nice pineapple narrative and very common over older New England doors. Dana

Here in Africa we eat the pineapples and just put a welcome mat by the front door... LMAO.....:)) Just kidding my friend - very interesting narrative and your image is tops. I love everything about it. The light and reflections are spot on! Lief jou! xxx

Whoa, love your pineapple doorway. The door, the glass, what I can see of the lobby all looks immaculate. You've captured the essence of pride on the part of this establishment. If you ever get to visit parts of Holland, you will find many houses that look just like this...immaculate. When the Dutch immigrated to the USA, many picked up the nickname, "Scrubby Dutch",...even their sidewalks and front stoops received daily cleaning with soap and water.

great shot. But the pineapple looks a serivative of the ancient European architectural decoration of the pine cone. Possibly it was changed by some American architect for nationalist reasons....

Wonderful shot -- great observation! I love your Chicago series -- looks like you got a lot out of the trip. Would like to see more of the Windy City through Tara's eyes.

have several images of bed and breakfasts' with the pineapple motif either carved into the entrance or mounted over would be interesting to see a series of these all pasted together. As always lovely detailed shot dear!
