I first discovered photography at the age of 8or 9 when i was given an old box brownie and after a couple of years I progressed to a Kodak folding camera I remember it took a size 127 film.
My father built me a dark room in the loft and I spent many hours learning about processing and printing my films, both black and white and colour. when marrige and family came along time for the processing side of photography had to take a back seat.  After 50 years working we retired to Chard in Somerset southwest England (we think it could be the best part of the world). About 3 years ago we got into digital photography , recently my son Ian who has a site on renderosity (iambrose) talked me into joining, I am so glad he did as it's so nice to read the comments and see how other people view your pictures.Â

well the residents will not complain unless one believes in ghosts. I think the living is much more apt to cause mayhem.superb capture. did you know why they put fences around graveyards? because it is the most popular place in any community, as people are dying to get in!!

Excellent shot, fantastic colors and details

Sad when the past is forgotten. Respect for our ancestors dwindles with each generation it seems. A mower would go a long way to show appreciation. Excellent photo!

Unlike GBcalls, I'm thrilled to see that nature wins over!

I believe well that have is all similar we have think of them but have will not see them lol. Our deaths are not heated just with the eye but prayers and all the remainder my friend. Cheer and mile mercies.

This would be the sort of place I'd hope to turn to dust in - quiet and off the beaten track. Very nice.

Peaceful indeed -- perfect place to rest the old bones... Beautiful capture!

Beautiful. As a kid, I loved hanging out in graveyards. I loved reading the headstones and imaging the lives of the people. Sounds morbid but it's very peaceful and fun. This one is a beauty!

At this stage I would say it needs no care at all but just to let it be in its natural state. It looks very tranquil and to cut the grass or trim it up would ruin the ambience. I am sure the dead are please to have this natural solitude for their final spot.

I'm a great lover of history and think it a shame when graveyards are neglected to the point were knowledge and accessability are lost. That said, the experience of visiting a graveyard to me, is improved if the hands of time and nature are seen. This looks a much more interesting place than a too orderly graveyard. Beautiful capture! (Love Richardphotos comment!)

Another well composed shot. A trim of the grass so it doesn't cover the headstones is all that it needs. I hope the local histroical society has etchnings and photos so the names and dates aren't forgotten.
