Description

At the edge of the famous Yellowstone Lake the steam rises from hot spots dotting the shore. This one is called Steamboat Point. Visitors are encouraged to stay off the thermal areas and only use the paths provided. Thanks for the view. Blessings, Jodie

more beautiful clarity of light, mixed with the softening of atmosphere. The clouds are so clear they're stunning. (That part of the country can get some of the clearest skies anywhere.) But also, your pov, the sweep of shoreline back into the right & then out to the left, is dramatic and caught with your usual grace. I love the soft blue-grays of the distant hills. Oh, and there are steam-pockets here! (With the sweep & lines of the shot, one can almost forget!) They're gently present & seem to blend right into the air itself; and it's fun to see the reactions to them from people who've never seen this kind of nature before. (The whole park has steam vents, if I remember.) I'm glad you caught a few people here too (Matthew? I can't tell...): They give the sweep of the shot a human dimension. Another beautiful shot from this series; and for all the grand drama of this area, there's something very gentle about your captures of it. I just realized that. Amazing melding of worlds...
