Hello! My name is Jodie. I live in Minnesota where the temps can fluxuate by 20 degrees in one day. Most of my photos have been taken very close to my home, a 10 acre hobby farm., where I raise Alpacas and chickens. I am a band director, a musician/singer and a photographer/adviser on the yearbook committee. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I have a D90 and a D70. I also have a SB800 flash and favorite lens is Nikon 18-200mm AF-S, with VR. Revisiting the visual arts is something I should have done years ago. If I see something remarkable, I just try to capture it. Nobody else will ever see it quite that way again so I hope you try that, too. This is just like expensive therapy for us. Thank you for visiting and may you have a peaceful day!

Pine wood smoke... Yes, that is the smell of camping. Unless you have a dog. Then the smell is wet dog like at home. Another fantastic shot.

to find Yogi Bear frying up a pan of bacon and eggs and brewing up a pot of coffee. Stellar morning light results in fantastic shadows and silhouetting in this super capture, Jodie!

AND . . . the smell of coffee brewing! I knew a fellow who would always brew a pot of coffee in the morning when he went camping. He didn't drink coffee. He just loved the aroma! Very nice capture, Jodie, with the shadows coming toward you. :~)

yes, fantastic light. (I'm skipping around because I've missed so much, bear with me!) Going all the way back to your early work here, you've had a sense with rolling light & mist, with light that pours through deep shadow, and with the shapes that punctuate such light like peaks in a piece of counterpoint. It's all here as well. The long sweeping shadows are counterpoint to the tall trees (which are like accents in the shadow sweeps that roll right to our 'door'). And the light feels like soft morning light—what you're capturing—and the smoke is like transparent veils wafting through the trees. (A real early morning capture.) The light & blue silhouettes in the background are a beautiful 'conclusion' to the shot; with the vehicles & people, it feels like a gentle gathering in a dream. Another beautiful capture, charmed & very gentle. Another fav.
