Description

Bryce6.1/DazStudio/Photoshop I've always admired the works of Rembrandt and Goya for the way that they drew you into their images, not necessarily for what was visible, but for what was hidden in the shadows...the details you were forced to search for. This is my attempt to re-create an image in their style,a dark scene lit by minimal lighting to create mystery and moodiness. Figure is Michael 3 Base, with a skin mat from the Creature Pack and Daryl Hair. The morphing is my own.The outfit is part of The Scout for M3,with textures from the Sky Scout set.The critters are the Stag Beetle and Noggins Butterfly. All are from Daz3D and posed in DazStudio,as are the leaf litter and rubble(part of the Temple Ruins set). The wall and ground textures are Medieval building photos from cgtextures.com,and the foliage is a preset vegetation in a modified leaf texture.Three radial lights with various falloff settings light the scene(sunlight was turned off).Rendered in Premium with soft shadows selected.Postwork in Photoshop involved a levels adjustment, painting in of whiskers and signature. Thanks for looking and any comments you wish to leave!

Cool lighting effects. Nicely done! Of course on my LCD monitor, the level of detail in the dark depends a bit on the angle of view. Makes it fun to scroll up and down looking for layers of detail.

You´ve definately surpassed yourself here, and you are becoming very adept at using Studio, something i´ve got to get better at!

This is a captivating scene- you've re-created the mood of the masters quite well.

Kind of reminds me of the dreams I'm having lately. Things that are hidden in the shadows ready to surprise me next. Super work on the character and setting, Neil.

I also share your love of shadows as subtle focal points. You've done a great job on the character and mood setting. Excellent!
