Description

it is for today, an old village on Lago Maggiore in Italy right behind the border of Switzerland. Every saturday there is a big market along the seaside in this old village, where people from around the lake come to buy and see. Form the little village we stayed, Brissago, it is only a few minutes drive, but you better go by boat, as parking is an adventure there as the marks on my car show...lol If you don't like the crowded market, the village is a pearl to walk through with all the medieval buildings and narrow streets. In the middle of my collage you see one of those narrow streets and headon a building with the arcades. This building is from the 15th century and used to be a small Franciscan monastery. Today it's a very romantic hotel which boasts a blend of original frescoes, antiques, vaulted ceilings, medieval stone columns. We walked over the market, had one of the fresh made excellent italian icecream and then had a picnic near the church with delicious Italian Salami, fresh and crispy bread and some fine cheese.

Wenn mich nicht alles täuscht ist das gegenüber Luino. Wunderschönes altes Städtchen, ausgezeichnet ins Bild gebracht.

Thank you for taking us on your trip. Love those narrow streets. Wonderful architecture and the food sounds good too. There's a reason it's so crowded. :D
